Latest from the Friday Fax on the UNFPA and IPPF trying to undermine Islam’s teaching against contraception and abortion by bringing together “scholars” to “discover” that it’s all really ok to kill your unborn kids.

UNFPA, IPPF Organize Pakistani Conference to Undermine Muslim Teaching on
Abortion/Contraception
A three-day international conference of Muslim scholars that portrayed
contraception and even abortion as acceptable to Islam wraps up today in
Islamabad, Pakistan. The International Ulama Conference on Population and
Development was the first of its kind, bringing together Muslim teachers
to explore whether Islam could approve of family planning and
“reproductive health” programs. The Conference was organized by Pakistan’s
Ministry of Population Welfare with support from the UN Population Fund
(UNFPA).
Pakistan’s Prime Minster Shaukat Aziz gave the inaugural speech, urging
religious scholars to draw guidelines in the light of Islamic teachings
for changing societal opinions on family planning, in Pakistan as well as
throughout the Muslim world. Religious scholars (Ulema) are key figures in
Islam, as they are responsible for interpreting the Koran and establishing
Islamic jurisprudence.
The Minister for Population Welfare, Shahbaz Hussain, explained that
Pakistan’s government has been working to gain the approval of religious
scholars for Pakistan’s recent embrace of population control programs
based on family planning and “reproductive health.” Hussain explained that
the government has established “Mobile Service Units” that provide
door-to-door “family planning and reproductive health services,” and has
expanded “reproductive health services centers,” as well as running a
media campaign to promote family planning.
The conference was attended by several key members of Pakistan’s
government, the representatives of at least 18 countries, including Egypt,
Turkey, Malaysia, and Saudi Arabia, and important Muslim scholars from at
least 29 countries.
Ms. Hong Ping of the Chinese chapter of the International Planned
Parenthood Federation (IPPF), who presented at the conference, explained
in her paper that currently there is “misunderstanding and misperception
of reproductive health and family planning prevailing among the Muslims,
such as…’abortion is life-killing,’ etc. All of [this] traditional
ideology tends to result in resistance to reproductive health services and
acceptance of family planning measures.”
In her paper, “Promotion of Reproductive Health Through Religious
Leaders Among the Muslim Population,” Ping said “it is crucial to develop
a sound partnership with the religious leaders should reproductive health
be improved and family planning program[s] be accepted among the Muslim
concentrated populations.”
Ping elaborated on a pilot program of this kind in China, where the
IPPF chapter “initiated a project on promoting reproductive health among
[the] Muslim population via religious leaders in April 1999.” The leaders
are “encouraged” “using relevant statements in [the] Koran and Hadith” to
explain that “reproductive health was necessary and feasible,” thus
“integrating the doctrines from the Koran and Hadith with reproductive
health and family planning.”
Undermining traditional religious teachings of many faiths has long
been the desire and goal of UNFPA and other proponents of UN-style family
planning. UNFPA executives consistently have misstated Catholic teachings
on contraception.

RealClear Politics has this on the investigation of the IRS and Cisneros by Robert Novak. (Hat Tip: PoliPundit)
In short, the Democrats (Sens. Dorgan, Durbin, Kerry) tried to slip in a rider on an appropriations bill to kill a report coming out that may indicate that Cisneros was protected by the Clinton administration. Novak suggests that the report indicates that “the worst suspicions about the IRS will be confirmed”. Just in time to talk about tax reform…

The whole Delay thing amuses me. Not because he took some junkets paid for by someone else, because quite frankly I’m sure there is plenty of that to go around, but because the people making charges are guilty themselves of it. This amuses me greatly because let’s be honest, these people take paycuts for these jobs… there are perks. There is enough corruption to go around in the House, and if the DNC wants to pick that fight, they’ll be taking it on the chin too, starting with Pelosi.

People who love home and garden decor are always on lookout for new ways of decoration. These days, doors are all the rage. Initially we had french doors to keep us busy. Then we got the patio doors that just had to be in the patio. Later on, innovations like pocket doors came up. So far, wood has been the best material as cleaning wooden doors is very easy. This and more common doors information is easily available online.

Stories of Google’s bias in dealing with conservative news sites and ads are many these days.
Michelle Malkin writes frequently on the bias (here, here, here, and here)
Here are some other sources.
- Threadwatch: Google Accused of Political Bias (again)
- I Hate Google: Is Google Red or Blue?
- The Buzz Blog: Google Censors Conservative Ad
- Inside Google: Google Accused of Liberal Bias
That’s what I first thought of when I read this Yahoo article on Google trying to patent a method to search on the QUALITY of news (you can read the application here)
Now, we have a company with a history of not giving a fair shake to conservative news and denying conservative ads and they’re developing an algorithm they want to use to determine quality of news. Where do you think conservative news sources will rank on this? I think we all know the answer here. This company because of the large amount of control it has because of the dominance of its search engine could begin to try to diminish the voice of conservatives on the net. This would be a liberals dream, because people turn more and more to the internet for news, now they can make sure appropriately vetted news articles from the politburo get top rankings. It looks to me like an outright attempt to regain control of the new media.
Contact the patent office to let them know this method shouldn’t be approved and use the petition and contact info below to let Google know they shouldn’t try to silence the conservative majority of this nation.

At Wal-Mart, Choosing Sides Over $9.68 an Hour
The ongoing media and leftist jihad against Walmart continues. They continue to bash on Walmart for paying low wages but the odd thing is, I’m not sure why they never seem to mention places like McDonald’s, factories, college-town jobs, or countless others who pay minimum wage whereever possible. The assumption is that either minimum wage should be raised because it’s unlivable, or that Walmart should just pony up more. It’s time I beat this myth down.
You can’t make a business pay taxes. Sorry. Business do one thing, and on thing only. The provide a service and pass the costs down to the consumer with some profit. If you artificially increase costs (i.e. telling them they have to pay more, raise taxes on them), they do two things: cut costs elsewhere (like firing people) or raise prices. A business that cannot recoup its costs when setting prices has a technical name… “bankrupt”.
Now, in particular, raising wages across the board does two things. Either the cost of living increases because everyone who has to pay more on labor will pass those costs down with increased prices or they will simply employ less people. It’s just that simple. What’s worse, having people who make 80% of what’s needed to live and have reasonable unemployment, or have some more people have enough but the rest make 0%. But there is another solution…
No matter what you do to a business, tax them, sue them, whatever, those costs are passed down to the consumer eventually and the consumer can’t pass those costs off to anyone. They make what they make. The solution here to address people who can’t get by on minimum wage is to LOWER the cost of living instead.
How can you do this? Tort reform is a part, and I don’t mean simply capping damages. The problem with suing a company, let’s say a doctor, is that they don’t really pay in the end. (Sure, lost time defending and all that, but they don’t cut the check). Liability insurers that no matter what a company does aside of outright murder can be reduced to a predictable line item so they can set prices.
Phillip Morris pays X amount of insurance a year to cover tobacco settlements. They pass that premium down in covering that cost in sales. Doctors do the same thing, they figure out their premium and other costs, then set prices. A could start would be to find a way to make companies instead of consumers pay for the **legitimate** harms they cause (and there is a healthy amount of illegitimate cases going through the courts to make companies pay for other people’s bad uses of their produce which is another problem).
The solution here is to reduce the cost it takes for companies to make their products and the savings is made up for by consumers who can much more easily get by. It’s simple economics. So let’s stop with the Walmart jihad and deal with the problem now.

ACLU Opposes Tax Exemption of All Churches
…But They Support It For Satanic Witches

Just reading the two statements above should wake up the Christians on both the left and right! And after learning this myself, the question came to me….how could anyone say this organization is not anti-Christian? I know all of you are wanting to see the evidence yourself, and while I don’t have the official policy to refer you to, I have learned this information from a very well respected author, William Donahue, in his book Twilight of Libery/The Legacy of The ACLU. Donahue has attained their policy guide and is one of the most trusted experts on the ACLU.
So let the story telling begin….
We will start out with the ACLU’s official policy on the tax exemption of Churches. Policy #92, “Religious Bodies’ Tax Exemption”…it states, The ACLU opposes the tax-exemption of all churches…”Source
During the 1988 presidential campaign the ACLU was brought under the spotlight. Michael Dukakis, the democrat nominee, proudly stated, “I’m a card-carrying member of the American Civil Liberties Union.” These words would soon come back to haunt him. I will not focus too much on this campaign other than using it as evidence of the ACLU’s position on the tax exemption of churches. However, Dukakis’s association with this group proved to be a major factor in his defeat.
During the first debate, Peter Jennings of ABC asked George Bush why he continued to make an issue out of Dukakis’s membership in the ACLU. Bush replied that he didn’t like most of the ACLU’s positions and offered four of them. We will just focus on the one we are talking about right now. Bush said, “I don’t think they’re right to try to take away the tax exemption of the Catholic Church.”
The ACLU don’t deny their position! Norman Dorsen, president of the American Civil Liberties Union from 1976 to 1991, refuted Bush’s statements, and said that the ACLU opposes tax exemption for all churches, not just the Catholic Church.Source
Here is a little more history on the issue from Twilight of Liberty.
“ACLU
founder Roger Baldwin once told me that the ACLU’s desire to strip the churches of their tax exempt status was “very foolish.” But in 1969, some nineteen years after Baldwin stepped down as executive director, the Union adopted its first policy opposing “tax exemption for church property which is used exclusively for religious purposes.’ In the latest policy on this subject, it makes no difference to the Union whether church property is not used exclusively for religious purposes, all are denied: “The ACLU opposes tax benefits for religious bodies”, seven examples are listed for clarification, including the benefit of tax exemption.”Source
“In
1970, the year after the ACLU issued its first policy opposing the tax exempt status for churches, it accepted the advice of church and state extremist Leo Pfeffer and drafted a brief opposing tax exemptions in Waltz v. Tax Commission. In 1987, the ACLU Foundation and the New York Civil Liberties Union
filed an amicus brief in support of Abortion Rights Mobilization to
secure standing in a suit challenging the tax exempt status of the
Catholic Church. The Catholic Church was charged with violating its
tax-exempt status by taking a stand against abortion.”Source
Meanwhile with the Witches
“While
the ACLU was taking aim at the Catholic Church’s tax exempt status, the Union affiliate in Providence, Rhode Island, came out in favor of a tax exemption for Satanists.”Source
They went and got a tax administator to rule that a coven of witches
were entitled the same tax-exemption as churches had. This is pure
hypocrisy. The ACLU’s involvement in this case clearly shows that they will defend the rights of the occult. Many Christians wonder why they are not as acommodating to our interests.
Now if we were to follow some misguided philosphy of the seperation of church and state, one might could rationalize their policy on a church’s tax exempt status. One could also rationalize a posistion of tax exemption to all religions. But their is no logical reasoning that one could take to defend both of these positions. It is pure hypocrisy, and proof that the ACLU is an enemy of Christianity.
I question their tax exempt-status! I think it’s time for Christians on the left and right to wake up to the ACLU’s agenda!
