Corrections:
Usually I rely on reputable sources for what I get. Most of the time that’s the press. If they misreport, I get the wrong story. Sometimes I do my own reporting, and by and large, I make darn sure I don’t run with something that will get me sued. Sometimes I do get things wrong. What I will do in those cases is strikethrough the post, or the incorrect portions of the post, and post a correction and explanation of what was wrong and why I was wrong. I’m man enough to admit I botched something, and when I do, you’ll know about it.

Comments and Trackbacks:

They are moderated for several reasons. (1) spam sucks. (2) There is only one troll allowed on this blog and that’s me. Sharing my trolling space with other trolls takes away from the core mission of this blog. Vanity and shameless self-promotion. At some point I should work on those vices. (3) If you have something to say and I don’t approve your post, you are free to start your own blog at many of the free blogging services around (except Blogger sucks, I’d avoid it). You shouldn’t have to rely on me to express your opinion, express it yourself. Life is better that way. However, if you have a TypeKey account which are trivial to set up, you can comment directly by logging in. It’s not that I don’t like conversation, it’s that the the spam to comment ratio was getting to be about 50:1. Now I get no spam.

The same goes for trackbacks, and if you want me to approve it, it would certainly help that your post at least references mine. I am much more liberal in approving trackbacks than I am with comments.

Privacy:

I reserve the right to publish any e-mail received or any logs generated by your visits. Don’t like it? I believe the EFF has a anonymous Internet project you can use to remove any identity traces. Beyong that, I’m not planning on finding out identities of people and harassing their place of business or stuff like that. I have better things to do with my time.
