Democrats Fail to Squash IRS Investigation

RealClear Politics has this on the investigation of the IRS and Cisneros by Robert Novak. (Hat Tip: PoliPundit)

In short, the Democrats (Sens. Dorgan, Durbin, Kerry) tried to slip in a rider on an appropriations bill to kill a report coming out that may indicate that Cisneros was protected by the Clinton administration. Novak suggests that the report indicates that “the worst suspicions about the IRS will be confirmed”. Just in time to talk about tax reform… :)

    1. I think that it’s interesting to note that the Republicans only point fingers at the things DEmocrats do. Maybe Clinton DID protect Cisneros. But it’s like the recent controversy against Google for being pro-liberal and anti-conservative. What about the many companies that support the GOP? There are far more of those than the ones who support the Democrats. What about MSNBC, FOX NEWS and Clear Channel? Heck, Clear Channel was giving Bush free ads last year in several states, just putting signs up for him out of their own pocket. This kind of bias is important to note but it must be objectively noted.

    3. True, but that’s also politics, each party only points at the misdeeds of others. Fox News and Clear Channel however you can turn off and don’t have the kind of share that Google does. And for every Fox News, there’s a CNN. Companies supporting one party or another with their donations is fine, but since there is no real competitor to Google, that’s a problem.
